Invisible Light is a unique project by Australian photographer Brendan Fitzpatrick that explores the visual properties and possibilities of digital radiography.
In an all-digital workflow CRT and mammogram machines Brendan makes solid objects transparent with often surprising results.
Greyscale DICOM files are processed and composited in Adobe Photoshop. Some of the flower images combine elements of four different specimens in order to create the perfect image.
Colours are also added in Photoshop. The toys in particular take on the appearance of sugar candy. Thus toys designed to appeal to children appeal to them in a new way via the X-ray.
A series of four images was commissioned by Tiffany & Co. for their Sydney flagship store.
Brendan lives in Sydney Australia.
